Based on the bestselling novel, this is a provocative, ambitious drama that explores the unconsidered assumptions — about religion, romance, finance, and other philosophies — that power our cultures, for good or ill, seen through the eyes of a young Pakistani man who is transformed from a ruthless Wall Street capitalist to a Muslim scholar in Lahore by the dehumanization he experiences as a brown-skinned man in New York in the wake of 9/11. Good all around, but most notable for the powerful performance of up-and-comer Riz Ahemd in the lead.
