If you’ve still got some catching up to do on the Oscar nominees for Best Picture, you’ve got a few hours left before the first day of multiplex chain AMC’s annual Best Picture showcase begins. For only $30, today only, you can see Philomena, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street, and 12 Years a Slave. Then, on next Saturday, March 1st, for just $40, you can see Nebraska, Captain Phillips, Her, American Hustle, and Gravity. (See the full list of participating ’plexes here.)
Or, in just a few cities — Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, and Washington — you can see all nine movies in one go next Saturday, March 1st, for a measly $60. (See here for the locations of those cinemas.)
For more info, see AMC Best Picture Showcase.
I’ve seen all the Best Pic nominees — though I still have to review some of them — but I do have some other nominees to catch up on. Which is what I’m doing this weekend…

It seems like a good idea, but I’ve read MaryAnn’s comments on “four movie days” — by the last film of the day, are you really going to be taking in everything that’s there to appreciate?
