Pompeii trailer: their love was so powerful, the earth moved

Crustal displacement throwing aircraft carriers into the White House? Old and busted. Massive volcanoes throwing galley warships into the gladiatorial coliseum? New hotness.

Oh, schlockmeister Paul W.S. Anderson, you are adorable.

From now on, whenever someone asks, “What is this?” I am going to reply, with deep solemity, “It is the mountain.”

Please let this be as stupidly fun as it looks.

It looks as if it’s trying to copy the classic disaster film: adding a trumped-up melodramatic “human angle” to the really interesting story of the disaster itself.

Could be good cheesy fun.

There was an episode of Seinfeld that included a number of fake movie ads. (People kept dialing Kramer’s number instead of the Moviefone line.) This sounds like one of the made-up films in those ads.

Heh. My daughter has just been learning about Pompeii at school. Perfect timing!

My wife works at a science museum that has a travelling Pompeii exhibit right now. Seeing this trailer I thought, one of these things is not like the other ;-)

I didn’t see Peter Capaldi once. So inaccurate.
