Same old story.

Here are the few films coming in 2014 that are not sequels, remakes, reboots, or based on a stage show, the Bible, young-adult novels, comic books, cartoons, or — someone make it stop — toy lines.

Perhaps a film actually inspired you to do something or learn something. Perhaps it’s merely a positive feeling that a particularly film left you with.

Limp and lifeless, this overlong and undercooked would-be blockbuster cannot focus on either the hard-edged realities or the magical mysteries it toys with.
