From the narrow perspective of freedom of speech as defined by the U.S. Constitution, I think it would be hard to justify the notion that the American Founding Fathers had anonymity in mind…
Is it the use of CGI? Is it blockbusterness (or bucking blockbusterness in the age of blockbusters)? Is it just about being produced after a certain date, and if so, when did the “modern” era of film begin?
I want to know what you think makes a movie great, and how your personal greatest film impacted your determination of what makes for great cinema in general.
Has some trick or act from film or television ever saved your life, gotten you out of a frightening situation, helped you open a jar or bottle?
If you feel a movie can be great even if it’s boring, which films fit into this category?
