Hitler’s Children (trailer)

I have to say that I’ve often wondered whether, during and after World War II, people named Hitler — there must have been some who had nothing to do with the Nazi leader, right? — changed their names because the associations were so horrific. (I remember reading as a kid that Harpo Marx legally changed his first name away from Adolf because of Hitler.) And how awful for them that their family name was so unfairly besmirched! But I confess I have never thought about relatives of the people surrounding Hitler, those with names almost as equally ruined forever, and what became of their families. Maybe I just unthinkingly assumed that, just as Hitler left no descendants, neither did they. Clearly, I was wrong about that.

So I’m very curious to see this…

And here in Norway no-one has the name Quisling any more, and few the name Vidkun.
