Uh-oh. This is looking a little too much like Tim Burton’s hideous Alice in Wonderland. I know it made a buttload of money for Disney, so of course they want to replicate that, but that soulless movie left a bad taste in my mouth that still hasn’t gone away.
I don’t expect the same from Sam Raimi… but then again, there was a time when I never would have imagined that Tim Burton would make such an obscene piece of processed cinema junk food, either. This is what The Mouse can do to a man. It’s a terrible thing to behold.
