What with all the Pirates of the Caribbean folks involved here — screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, director Gore Verbinski, and of course Johnny Depp — I wasn’t expecting this to be so serious. Perhaps this is a bit of misdirection to keep us talking for the next nine months, or until the funny trailer is released.
