If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook (or MySpace, but I may dump that soon), then you probably guessed that I attended one of the public sneak previews yesterday afternoon of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (opens in the U.S. and the U.K. on July 1), because you saw my post-screening quick-reaction tweet: “[MaryAnn] suggests: for ice age and Cretaceous creatures together, go to a natural history museum, not ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.’” Also: Why is Ray Romano famous? He’s so friggin’ annoying…
I’m out the door in a few minutes to go see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (now playing the U.K.; opens in the U.S. on Wednesday, June 24). Oh, man, I hope stuff blows up real good! Oh, wait: it will.
Since I saw Ice Age 3 yesterday, that means I can keep tomorrow night — when it’s being screened for the press — free for a relatively early press screening of Sacha Baron Cohen as Bruno (opens in the U.S. and the U.K. on July 10). I thought Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan was utterly brilliant, so I’ll probably less than satisfied if this one isn’t sheer genius, too. I’m keeping my hopes up…
Johnny Depp Johnny Depp Johnny Depp! Public Enemies (opens in the U.S. on July 1, and in the U.K. on July 3)! Also: Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, and David Wenham! *sigh*
I’m really looking forward to The Hurt Locker (opens in the U.S. on June 26; no U.K. release date has been announced yet), too. All these grownup action movies this summer! What is the world coming to?
Cold Souls (opens in the U.S. on August 7; no U.K. release date has been announced yet) is Paul Giamatti searching for his inner essence. Oh, this should be good…
As I suspected would happen last week, I had to skip the screening of Humpday I had on my schedule. But I’ll see it this week instead…
Ice Age is all about the Scrat.
